At the call center I used to work at, customer information would sometimes auto-populate the profile if the system recognized the number so all I had to do was verify the information and not necessarily type anything to search for the profile.
One day I got a call and the profile auto-populated so the first thing I asked for was the name to be sure the right profile auto-populated.
Customer: Yes, it’s Karen with a K
Me: *pause* ok…
It just threw me that she felt she had to clarify that Karen was in fact spelled the traditional way. After I joked with a friend what would it have been, Karen with a “Q”.
