“Can’t you just sign the forms for me? Why do I have to?”

Working at a bank customer service

“To complete this request sir, you have to fill out this form and submit it to us to remove the levy placed against your account.”

“It’s my money. I don’t have to do that. Since you guys are my bank, can’t you just sign the forms for me?”

“You want us to sign these IRS forms? … your forms from the United States Government?”

“Just do it, you have my permission.”

“I apologize but your permission is irrelevant. It’s a legal form from the United States Government. We cannot sign it for you. That’s considered forgery, illegal and obviously against banking/business practices everywhere.”

“I just won’t do it then. What do you have to say about that?”

“That’s fine. Failure to do so will result in the levy remaining on your account and your funds being withheld.”
