My call center uses the military alphabet when spelling out words to help avoid errors. So, A as in Alpha, B as in Bravo, etc. I had a customer spelling out the name of a business who had charged their card. I had to hit the mute button quickly when they said, U as in Eunuch. Was too busy laughing to wonder if it was even worth it to correct them since quality assurance could pull the call.
