Can you read?

A little background. I work for a mortgage servicing company. We are middle man contracted by banks and mostly take payments on homeowner’s mortgages. A bank can legally change your mortgage servicer at any time during the your loan, so the company you pay your bill to can change. So there is a company we will call Company X and they sent out notices to homeowner’s that their servicing changes effective 9/1/2020 and any payments made prior to 9/1/2020 need to be made to company X and and payments made on 9/1/2020 or after need to be made to the company I work for, we will call it company Y. The notice states if they want to contact their new servicer (company Y) they can contact us starting on 9/1/2020. When they call in to us (company Y) there is a recording explaining that if your servicing is transferring effective 9/1/2020 then your mortgage will not be able to be serviced until at least 9/1/2020 and may take up until 9/8/2020 for us to have an account set up for you. I have been getting calls for over a week now with homeowners freaking out that we cant give them any of their account info or service their mortgage yet. I even ask them ” what date does it say the date of transfer of service is on the notice?” and the caller will say something like “it says it is effective 9/1/2020 and I can contact you with questions starting 9/1/2020 but why cant you help me now???”. I just sit there rolling my eyes. Ive been yelled at, called names and hung up on simply because these ppl cant grasp the concept. “What’s my new account number? Can I make a payment to you now? When is my payment due?” I just say , ” if it says on your notice that your servicing is effective 9/1/2020 then contact us on 9/1/2020, any sooner and we won’t be able to assist you.”
