No one listens.

I work for a water company and I have this conversation quite often:

C: can you tell me where the water meter is?

Me: yes, its in the public foot path out the front of you property in the ground under a small, square, metal cover that says water on the front.

C: is this it in my hall?

Me: no its out the front in the

C: is it the box on the side of my house?

Me: no it’s..

C: there is a tap in the back garden is it there?

Me(finally able to finish my sentence) no it is in the ground in the PUBLIC FOOT PATH.

C: oh there it is, you could have been clearer.

Me: ….
