You ever get those customers that call in and just seem to desperately want to get a rise out of you for no reason? Just to be clear I get a lot of insurance calls. I like to first ask how I can help before I verify to make sure I get the customer to the correct department so they don’t and up verifying twice. I guess I could have explained that this customer but something tells me he wasn’t trying to hear it lol.
Me: me C: customer
Me: Thank you for calling roadside assistance. How can I help today?
C: Yeah this is cranky guy. Do you need my policy number?
Me: I may but first what can I help with?
C: scoff Well if you let me finish you would know!
Me: Okay.annoyed ( I didn’t interrupt you but whatever)
C: “OkAy”mocking God could you get any ruder?!
Me: …… So do you have questions about insurance?
C: Yes! I need to pay it. So you do need my policy number don’t you??
Me: No I actually need to get you connected to our insurance department.
C: So this is not insurance? Who did I call?!
Me: Membership services.
C: You are so rude! I’ve never dealt with this from roadside assistance company! Blah blah blah…..
Me: …….( I patiently wait for him to get done to be sure I’m not interrupting him)
C: ………
Me: ……so is it okay if I go ahead and get you connected with insurance?
C: scoffs and laughs “CaN YoU cOnNeCt mE wItH InsUrAnCe?” mocking Yes of course!
