No, he doesn’t work here and no, your quote that’s multiple years old is no longer valid.

This guy has been calling all day looking for an employee who no longer works with us. The ex employee the caller is trying to reach hasn’t been with us for over a year. We’ve been going in circles all day.

caller: “But he’s the only contact I have and I need him to look at a quote he sent us.”

me: “Sir, as I said before, he is no longer with the company. Someone else can review your quote with you.”

caller: “But I know [ex employee] and he knows what I like. He’s the only one I want to talk to.”

me: “Then you aren’t going to talk with anyone. [Ex employee] hasn’t been with us for some time and isn’t able to help you.”

caller: “C’mon, the quote’s not that old. It’s from… 2017. [Ex employee] will be the only one who’ll honor it, so get me him.”

me: “No one is going to honor a 3 year old quote. Here are your options: review it with another person, or lodge a compliant with customer service. Which will it be?”

caller: “If you’re going to be so nasty, customer service then. I’ll tell them about you and how you’re treating customers. You’ll get fired, just watch.”

Mmhmm. They’ll tell you the same thing I did. You’ll call back in half an hour to 45 minutes and we’ll do this whole things again. I blocked him but he’s calling from different numbers. Ugh.
