So I work for the Big Red Check in USA, if you live here you know. I get calls all the time from people pretending to be our customer’s trying to lower their bills or get one time credits, and there’s nothing we can do to stop it. Leads into my story, get a call from Bob today,
M: “Thanks for calling this is masterroon how can I help today”
B: “Yes I just got a notification about 3 new Iphone 11 Pros that were ordered I didn’t authorize those.”
M: “So sorry to hear that I can def take a look and see what’s going on.”
Review the order to see that the customer spoke with us just a few minutes ago and placed an order for these phones, he lives in a state where taxes aren’t due up front so there was no payment needed.
M: “alright bob, so I see here that it looks like you called just a few minutes ago and placed this order”
B: “Nope haven’t called you people in weeks.”
M: “No problem let me get this order cancelled before you get any charges.”
After getting the order cancelled find out that the customer had recently used one of those Negotiate your bills apps to try and get us to lower his bill, what the customer was not aware of is that these people pretend to be you, had he not caught the order there would have been nothing our fraud team could do.
TL:DR DON’T USE THE NEGOTIATE YOUR BILL APPS. 100% NOT WORTH IT.
