Headed out

Sharing this with the only people who would understand: about 15 years ago, I got my first call center gig. I was lucky enough to stick around and grow in that industry, kept grinding and learned a thing or two.

Approx 1.5 yrs ago, a new US-based online gambling company hired me to launch the company’s customer service contact center. I spent my time writing SOPs, putting together guidelines, setting up and managing the tech, interviewing and hiring CS agents, supervising their training, calibrating their performance, promoting shift supervisors and TLs, navigating budgeting, compliance, payroll, HR and 3rd party vendor relationships. It’s been real.

I’m proud of the result: there are some really great people who work together, as a team, and consistently deliver a solid service, even during these crazy times. There’s nothing new left to build – it is mostly about optimizing and fine-tuning, and no major new initiatives. So today, I submitted my resignation. Time for a vacation 🙂
