Defective Watch

So this was a few years ago and I worked somewhere that did customer service for a department store’s online branch. It was my second week on the floor after training. I had signed up for overtime. I worked in WI but all the supervisors that day were in the FL office.

Me- obvious JF- jerk face

Me- “Thank you for calling X my name is oweesa, how may I help you.”

JF- starts angry but not yelling “I ordered a watch off your site and it doesn’t f***ing work.”

Me- “I’m sorry to hear that, let me pull up your order so I can help you.”

I then get all of the necessary info and search our system. Nothing. I check to see if it was under a different name, tried every spelling I could think of, still nothing. I verify multiple times you order it from X(3-4) while I was searching.

Me- “Are you sure you ordered this through X?”

JF- Now yelling, “Of course I’m sure! I’m not stupid. You must be f*ing r*ed if you aren’t finding it. How stupid can you be?”

Me- trying my best to be nice, “OK, let me pull it up on the website and get the item number and I’ll search that way. What kind of watch is it?”

JF gives me watch brand and cost (roughly $300). I scour the entire website and it isn’t there. Could be out of stock so I google it. I found the only place that I could find said watch was on the manufacturer’s website.

Me- “I’m sorry sir but I can only find it available for purchase through website Y.”

JF- “That’s who i f*ing called. You stupid bch! I’ve been telling you that the whole time!”

Me- “I’m sorry sir but I work for X. If you’d like I can give you the customer service number for Y.”

JF- “Fing moron, give me the damn number.” I gave it to him, then “Thanks for wasting my time you fing moron.”

Then he slams the phone down. I immediately put myself in break and message my supervisors since they were looking for people to go home early. After getting them to understand I’m in a different time zone and that I have an hour more left than they first thought, they let me go.

At my next scheduled shift I talk to my direct supervisor and learn that because this guy was screaming at and berating me I could have disconnected the call.

TLDR: Guy calls need at company X and screams at me for not being able to find the order he got from company Y.
