A question for all of you working in call centers…

Just how long is the extended hold time? I’ve been on hold with a credit card provider for 2 hours and 45 minutes and counting. I understand that call centers are short staffed and more people than normal are calling in, but my husband is saying the call center is probably closed. The company’s website says they’re open for another 3 hours. Am I more likely to get through if I call as soon as the call center reopens in the morning? I’m so far in, I’d hate to hang up if i happen to be next in line. I really wish this was something I could do for myself online, but I’ve already tried, and I sent a message through the website a week ago and haven’t heard back.
