A couple days ago I took a call that really melted my cold dead heart. I finish homeowner’s insurance policies for new home purchases. It was a sweet elderly woman with a current address in Maine with a lovely southern accent. She was buying the cutest little house in Georgia.
The whole transaction was pretty smooth and I was able to quickly send her the paperwork she needed. At the end I gave my usual “hope you love your new home” and she gushed, “This is the first house I’ve ever bought. I’ve been saving my whole life to move home to Georgia and now I’m doing it.” The excitement and pride in her voice gave me all sorts of happy chills.
You know what I hope she really does love that new home. What a great lady.
