A Very Special Email

Been lurking for awhile, but this is the first I’m posting. Just about every job I’ve ever had has involved call centres, often with emails on top of phone calls. Today I received a real gem of an email.

I help my company’s applicants with things like filling out consent forms and understanding processes. Really interesting stuff, I know. Today I received an email that contained nothing but an image. Rather than printing out his consent form to sign by hand like just about anyone else would, this man had gone above and beyond the call of duty. He took a picture of the consent form in his browser using his phone, printed this image including the browser tabs, signed the consent form, then took a picture of the signed, printed picture with his phone to send in us in an email.

The best part? This man had signed his own parent/guardian consent form. He was 60 years old. I wish I could say why he’d wound up with a parental consent form at his age, but this I have no answers for. I look forward to returning to an email from this man tomorrow.
