I work for a medium-sized ISP. Guy calls in complaining that his service is intermittent. I take a look at his modem and see trouble right away. We definitely need a tech on this one.
But as per protocol, I try a reset before I schedule a trouble call, knowing it’s not going to make a difference.
While it’s resetting, the caller made the threat that we would be “held responsible” if his house was broken into while his security cameras were offline.
