The advantages of a multicultural environment

I work for an ISP and normally I only have technicians who call in, but sometimes it happens we have to call a client (for example when they’re not home when the tech comes knocking). This happened today as I called the customer.

$C: (something that resembles “hello”)
$ME: (Standard spiel of a call opening), is this misses X?
$C: (In very, very broken English) Yes, family X here.
$ME: Do you prefer English over Dutch or French?
$C: Russian, but English OK
$ME: Please hold on one moment.

And after this I transferred her to my Russian-origin colleague to explain to her what had to be done.
