I was thinking back to some of my calls and this one popped up…Mobile post Yadda Yadda Yadda…

I was a sup at the time known for a zero BS tolerance. If the customer got screwed I’d be fighting every department to make it right. If the customer was wrong It wouldn’t go well…

Agent flags me over for a Sup takeover… Reason, dispute of current balance. This was a retention queue, In defense of the agent our billing training kinda sucked and I started out as a billing rep…

I side jack in so the rep can see and hear everything because.. Coaching always… If a rep learns something than I can have 1-2 less questions I can proceed with more screwing off, err mentoring…

After 5 mins of trying to explain the bill and the customer cutting me off every 8 seconds the rep face-palming the whole time I finally snapped…because if you cut me off explaining charges I start from scratch so there isnt any confusion…

MC shall be mathematically challenged B for ole Blotto

MC: no sir you obviously don’t understand and your math sucks

B: I’m sorry you feel that way but if you would let me finish a sentence I could demonstrate how good my math skills really are.

MC: Silence (along with 3 agents around me because they couldn’t believe I said that)

B: explained whole bill without interruptions

MC: oh, that makes perfect sense thank you very much…

B: close out call and ACW the rep to note the account…

The reps were like “you can say stuff like that to the customer?” I said as long as you have the knowledge and skills to back it up and are professional than yes. If not well you are going to have problems…

I’ve said more off the wall stuff than that but it’s been a while so I figured I’d share more of my stories…

Tl;dr :Math is hard…
